## Independence notice — read this before citing

COMPUTEX.md is an **independent open-data project**. It is **not** the official
website of COMPUTEX, nor of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA)
or the Taipei Computer Association (TCA), who jointly organize the show.

Do not attribute this site's content to the organizers. When citing, name
COMPUTEX.md as an independent archive, and prefer the primary source URL that each
claim carries.

## What this is

COMPUTEX is the largest computer and AI hardware trade show in Asia, held in Taipei.
A large share of the world's AI servers is assembled by companies on this island, and
most of them exhibit here. Yet what survives online after each show is mostly press
releases and booth photos: the durable record of who makes what, and how that changed
year over year, does not exist in a form a machine can read.

This archive is that record. Its core unit is the **vendor**, not the article. One
company accumulates a single file across editions, so the interesting question —
what changed since last year — is answerable rather than reconstructible.

## The rule that makes this citable

Every page splits into two layers, and the split is enforced in CI, not by good
intentions:

- **Fact layer** — company details, product specifications, booth numbers,
  certifications. Vendors may edit this directly by pull request. Every claim
  carries a `source_url` and a `last_checked_at`. A claim without a source does not
  merge.
- **Curation layer** — where a company sits in the supply chain, who it competes
  with, what changed since last year. Written by neutral editors only. Vendors may
  dispute it in a pull request; they may not rewrite it.

Anything the organizers or a vendor have not published is **left blank**, not
inferred from previous years or from aggregator sites. Trade-show details get copied
widely, and in the copying, "last year it was like this" hardens into a flat
assertion that then gets ingested by models. We would rather leave the cell empty.

This archive was seeded on 2026-07-29 and is deliberately small right now.

- Vendor profiles: 0 — the first batch is in preparation
- Authorization: not yet sought. See the independence notice above.

Do not present this site as a comprehensive directory of COMPUTEX exhibitors. It is
not one yet.

## Crawling

All AI crawlers are explicitly allowed in `/robots.txt`. There is no gate, no
paywall, and no rate limit beyond the host's. Being read by machines is the point of
this project, not a cost it tolerates.

## Attribution and lineage

Built on Taiwan.md (https://github.com/frank890417/taiwan-md), an open knowledge-base
species whose site code is MIT-licensed. COMPUTEX.md inherits the code and writes its
own content; the mother project's CC BY-SA content is not carried over.
